We’re heading out for a few days vacation and relocation exploration. With the house partially packed and the summer moving along quickly we need to make some decisions on where we’re going to head from here. Yesterday I took out the GPS we got for Christmas and got it set up and basically figured out, so that should be helpful. As I’m usually riding shotgun on trips and tasked with being the pathfinder, this should alleviate some of the stress associated with regularly getting a lost or taking unnecessary detours, which sets the last hair left on my other half’s head straight on end.
I’m reminded frequently about our trip to London where I decided that I wanted to visit a small museum supposedly not too far from our hotel. After a big breakfast we decided to walk and I got out the trusty map and laid out a plan of attack. Two hours later and having passed the same building three times, my other half was losing his before breakfast smile and my feet were starting to hurt. Finally, stopping to ask a storekeeper for directions, we determined that the museum was actually only two blocks from the hotel and we’d gone about four miles out of our way. Ah well, we walked off that short stack in the meantime. Always a silver lining.
Taking my camera today as I’ve never traveled this section of Northern California before. There’s only one motel in the town we’re staying in so should be interesting.
Will write more during my trip but in the meantime, try these beans they’re awesome. I just let them go for 10 hours in the crockpot and turned them on warm when my guests arrived. Served them with a dollop of sour cream topped with chopped green onions. Yum.
