I am behind on everything so want to start by thanking Cristi at Simple.Interesting for nominating me for the Super Sweet Blogger Award.
Part of the procedure is to answer 5 sweet questions.
1.Cookies or cake?
Cookies, every time, but not often.
2.Chocolate or vanilla?
I went without chocolate for twenty years, always chocolate.
3.What is your favorite treat soft?
Argh, tapioca – hold your applause.
4.When do you want the most sweet things?
When I’m pregnant, which fortunately was a while back or I’d still look it.
5.If you had a mild nickname, what would it be?
Mutley, it’s the hair.
I have been included by Viveka of My Guilty Pleasures in her list of nominees for Blog of the Year 2012. It has been most fun to share my journeys and perils with you, many who’ve I’ve come to consider friends rather than blogging acquaintances, and explore the good, bad, and ugly of what could be summed up in a thimbleful as my cooking experiences. Being in the kitchen is as cathartic for me as writing. Pairing the two came naturally like serving a fine cheese with an excellent wine, or box wine and a stick of string cheese wherever I fit in the picture.
During this experience I have had the privilege of reading so many blogs along the way all offering something special and some repeatedly shining brightly. These are the people I visit often, and enjoy on each stop. I will offer them as my nominees and although many of you have already visited, I encourage you to do so again as they always have something special to offer.
For “The Blog of the Year Award 2012” we collect stars. For every nomination we are awarded we achieve another star, with the allowable amount achieved no more than 6.
The rules are as follows:
1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award
2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them
5 You can now also join our Facebook page – click the link here ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Award and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience
6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…
These are the bloggers, and I’m combining the two awards and extending them to all on the list as they are all stars as well as super sweet bloggers. Choose your award from the two or take both as you’re deserving. Thanks for making this experience most special.

Thanks for my second star! And thanks for your support at all time.
My pleasure
Why thank you so much! I’ll hold onto the yummy looking Super Sweet one for another post, but it looks like I should update tomorrow’s—I get 2 stars! I always enjoy your posts, and you deserve both of these awards. 🙂
JM, yay, 2 stars. Well deserved. Good luck.
Congrats on the awards (and I like tapioca, too)!
Tapioca is a good thing. Thank you. I feel like I missed a lot of my favorite blogs but will make it up along the way. So many great cooks, writers, photographers, and poets out there hard to keep track.
Congratulations on your wonderful awards…well deserved! And thanks for the nominations, such a pleasure to be recognized:)

Congrats ! You deserve all these awards !
Aren’t you nice, and thank you again.
congratulations on your awards and thank you for sharing them so freely – and the cupcake award looks good enough to eat! 🙂
Thank you. I feel like I could have shared with so many people but had to start somewhere. Yes, the cupcake makes me want to bake and that’s not my forte.
[…] included me in his nominations for this award. And then yesterday, I was nominated by SusArtAndFood’s Blog. “Thank you” sounds so insufficient for an award with this name. But anything else might […]
Congratulations!!!!
Thanks so much!
Congratulations on your awards, and thank you for the nominations!
You are welcome – most deserved on your end. Beautiful photos and interesting posts. Always look forward to them.
Congratulations and well done. Please share your tapioca recipe.
Janet, thank you. I will 🙂
Congratulations to you, Super Sweet blogger (though perhaps the filet mignon is more to my taste?) – and thank you – to be included among such great bloggers is a tremendous compliment. I’ll rush to see the blogs i don’t know and try to get out an acceptance speech as soon as I can 🙂
I’m with you. Not much on sweets but love a good piece of filet. You are welcome, and it comes easily to you as your blogs are always interesting. Good luck!
Congratulations, Susie! You certainly are deserving of this and the many awards that are sure to come your way. “Mutley”? Really? 🙂
Thank you so much for the nomination. I may not accept awards any more but that doesn’t mean I appreciate the honor any less. And now I’ve got a few blogs of fellow nominees to check out. This was a very nice Welcome Home. Thanks!
John, yes, Mutley. My uncle dubbed me that as a little girl because they would comb my hair and dress me up and I’d go out and play and come in looking like a stray. My hair has natural wave to it that I love now but hated back in the day so that was who I became. Sigh.I felt you wouldn’t accept it, but wanted you to know I thought you deserved it!
Hooray! Thanks for the award 🙂 and the heads up on other great blogs. I’m sorry but I did snigger about the Mutley comment. If it makes you feel any better, I used to do a great Cousin It routine (hair over the face, glasses on top) because I’ve such a giant mop of hair. Oh, and I love tapioca too…and rice pudding…and semolina. I’m weird like that 🙂
Tapioca is yum. My grandmother used to make both rice pudding and tapioca when I was a kid. Yes, the hair situation was that I was a bit of a tomboy as a kid so would go out and play and come in looking like something the cat dragged in, hence, Mutley. Cousin It , too funny 🙂
Congratulations!!!!
I’m very happy to have found your blog. It was completely worth my time. Only the details I wanted! Soon after four days of fishing for information I ultimately discovered your blog. May God bless you. I hope you have a wonderful day.
Jodi, well thank you so much for the kind words. Was I hard to uncover? Please stop by again when you get a chance and say hello. You have a wonderful day as well.
